They solve different problems, and the difference usually only becomes obvious after an institution has bought one. Here is what each kind is built around, where Teemly fits, and when one of the others is the better answer.
Most shortlists mix these up, because all four can show a student a question and record an answer. What separates them is the job they were designed around, and that decides what they are good at long after the demo.
Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, Google Classroom. Built to deliver a course - content, enrolment, submissions, and a gradebook attached to them. Assessment is one feature inside a larger teaching system, and the reporting tends to answer how a course is running rather than what a cohort has not understood.
HackerRank, CoderPad, CodeSignal. Built to decide whether to advance a candidate. The code execution is excellent and the test cases are serious, but the product is organised around candidates, roles and hiring teams rather than students, classes and terms.
Built around conducting a secure examination at scale: registration, identity checks, invigilation, results. The centre of gravity is exam day. What happens to those results across a term, or how they connect to the next paper, is usually left to whoever asked for the export.
The exam screen inside the system that already holds your fees, attendance and timetable. Hard to beat for having everything behind one login, and usually built to record marks rather than to conduct an assessment or interpret what it produced.
It is free, everybody already knows it, and it bends to whatever a department decides this term. Any honest comparison has to start by admitting how hard that is to beat.

Proctoring is the centre of the product - face and object detection, screen sharing, browser lockdown. Built around the integrity of an exam event rather than around what the results mean afterwards.
The closest of the five on the things we care about, and worth taking seriously. It publishes an onscreen marking system for handwritten answer sheets, question paper generation, skill-tagged questions and Bloom's taxonomy tagging. If your problem is evaluating physical answer scripts at scale, this is the specialist.
Spans education, corporate and government, with Aakash, ALLEN and FIITJEE named among its customers. The only one of the five to publish a full paper story alongside the online one - paper-based delivery, OMR sheet reading and hybrid tests. Strong fit for a large coaching chain already running OMR.
Education only, with IITs, IIITs and state universities named as customers - and considerably more than an assessment tool. It runs live classes, course authoring and a learning management system alongside auto-graded programming and proctored exams. If you want the teaching and the testing in one system, it is the one on this page that does both.
Your ERP vendor's exam module, the platform a neighbouring school recommended, and the spreadsheet a head of department has quietly perfected over four years. In practice these win more evaluations than any product above, because they are already paid for and nobody has to be convinced.

There are three situations where we would tell you to buy something else, and it is cheaper for everyone to say so on this page than to discover it in month two.
If the requirement is hosting lectures, distributing reading, running discussions and tracking completion, that is a learning management system and Teemly is not one. Plenty of institutions run both: the LMS teaches the course, Teemly handles the assessment and the record that comes out of it.
If the question is whether to make someone an offer, buy a hiring platform. They are built for exactly that, they are good at it, and every part of Teemly that makes it useful to a teacher - cohorts, terms, topic reporting, the paper record - is dead weight in a recruitment process.
If what hurts is fees, attendance, timetabling and one login for all of it, an ERP solves that and Teemly does not. Worth asking honestly whether your exam pain is really an assessment problem or an administration one - the answers look similar from a distance and cost very different amounts.

No. Fees, payroll, attendance and timetabling are not part of Teemly and are not planned. If your institution needs those, the ERP stays as the system of record and Teemly covers assessment beside it.

Question papers and matching answer keys print from the same question bank, marks are entered after correction, and the results land in the same student record as online tests - with absences kept distinct from scores of zero, so an average always says what it is based on.
