Assessment is the one thing every institution already measures, and the last thing it can use

A term's worth of marks that cannot answer a question

Every institution runs tests constantly. Weekly chapter tests, unit tests, internal assessment, mocks, practicals. The marks get recorded, a percentage gets calculated, and a report goes home.

Then somebody asks a question the marks should be able to answer. Which students have been sliding for three tests running? Is this batch weak at organic chemistry specifically, or across the board? Did the students who struggled in August struggle again in November, or was that a different group? Is this question actually badly worded, given that twenty-six of thirty got it wrong?

The data to answer all four of those is already in the building. It is in a register, a spreadsheet, a stack of OMR sheets and three teachers' memories, and by the time anyone assembles it the term is over.

That gap is the whole product. Not collecting more data — institutions collect plenty. Making the data they already have answer a question while there is still time to act on the answer.

Four decisions that shape everything else

• The record follows the student, not the test. A student who sat eleven assessments across a term has one record with eleven points on it, not eleven result screens. Nothing about progress is visible until the results sit in one place.
• Paper counts. Indian institutions are not going fully digital and do not need to. Offline test results are recorded against the same roster as online ones, because a record that holds only half a term is not a record.
• Questions carry topics. A score says a batch got 61%. A score mapped to chapters says where the 39% went. One of those is a lesson plan.
• What happens after the test is the product. Delivering a test is the easy half. Who has not attempted, what is still unmarked, which questions the class failed, who needs looking at — that is the part institutions actually spend their week on.

What Teemly does not do

A platform that claims everything is usually reliable at nothing. These are decisions rather than gaps, and they are worth stating plainly before anyone signs up expecting otherwise.

• It is not an ERP. No fee collection, no attendance registers, no transport, no payroll. Institutions that already run an ERP keep it; Teemly sits alongside rather than asking anyone to migrate.
• It is not an LMS. Course content, video lessons and material delivery are somebody else's job. This is about what a student can demonstrate, not what they were shown.
• Nothing renews automatically. Plans are monthly and are paid deliberately each time. An institution that stops using it stops paying for it without having to find a cancellation link.
• Prices are flat. The number on the pricing page is the number charged. No tax added at checkout, no per-student surprise on the invoice.
• Restricting an account never removes data. A lapsed institution keeps every mark it recorded, readable and exportable. Student records are the institution's asset, not leverage.

Built in India, for Indian institutions

Teemly is built and run in India, and the product assumes it. Marking schemes follow Indian entrance and board patterns. Prices are in rupees. The academic calendar is terms and semesters rather than a fall and a spring.

The platform was previously called Wzdm. Same product, same team, a name that is easier to say and to spell.

We are early, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise. That has one advantage worth taking: an institution that starts now gets a direct line to the people building it, and the things it asks for tend to arrive.
